Can work as a W-2 onsite or offsite employee or as a W-9/1099 vendor/contractor/consultant. Can travel.
BUSINESS TYPE I manage and operate a multimedia, web content and computer software documentation services bureau in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii after 17 years working out of Palo Alto, California.
EXPECTED TASKS Converting notes, text, images, voice and audio clips, or video clips into usable formats for presentations on the web, in print, for database searches and in short QuickTime movies. We help Intranet and extranet operators, plus tourism vacancy sellers and are open to any suggestions as to other mutually agreeable possibilities.
WORK EXPERIENCE Corporate staff and mostly team consultant roles on a wide range of software, hardware, and consumer electronics product development and introduction projects. I have participated both as an engineering team member and as a documentation expert. I have worked in software marketing and engineering/development units, technical support, and in the operations departments of many Fortune 100 and major NASDAQ listed companies. I have also worked for NASA and the Office of Naval Research.
PRIMARY ROLE We test, troubleshoot, verify, break down and simplify complex information into understandable language - both in US English and for foreign language translations (localization) for our clients. Our work often helps our clients to better understand and manage the flow of internal company technical information. We do this by identifying and intelligently linking all of our client's relevant, designated computer-bound resources and references. We plan, convert or deconstruct, if need be, edit, pre-produce, modify, re-order, polish, link and present various kinds of marketing, engineering and administrative information.
SECONDARY ROLES We assess troublesome situations and recommend cost-effective, reliable strategies and solutions. We plan, create and modify presentations, documents, specifications and reports, create cutting edge documentary / corporate product demonstrations, video training pieces, trade show demo loops, and unique creations. We do the *little things* to assure successful, timely deliverables. We also link data and knowledge bases to users and their interfaces through instructions, descriptions, and communications tools. We also provide telecommuting guidance and training enabling human resources to fully participate from offsite locations. Our alliances and partnerships with web professionals enable us to also provide attractive, reliable, modular web sites and their backbones.

Information
We have a great variety of communications gear and software that enables
me to easily stay in constant contact with my clients, work group team
members and subject matter experts.
· We use faxes,
e-mail, telephoning, snail mail, e-telephone conference calls (PhoneFree,
NetMeeting), live chat, live whiteboard, our own ftp site, live desktop
video teleconferencing and remote logins directly to my clients' computers
to exercise and access their software and personnel seamlessly. Kinko's
locally, nationally and internationally has high-end video- teleconferencing
services if that particular need arises.
· We can significantly
cut client costs normally associated with supporting in-house, onsite contracting
and consulting. There is no need to provide a cubicle, PC or workstation,
licensed software, or telecommunications connectivity. MIS/helpdesk
support and face to face meeting times are decreased.
· Telecommuting
is a great solution for innovative, deadline-oriented, cost-conscious managers
and work groups and it also reduces freeway traffic! Our commitment
to excellence and practicality assures first class, on time tech writing,
online help, data communications/networking, offline digital video editing,
QuickTime movie clips, or a variety of competent web work for your projects.
· I am here in
Hawaii after being recruited to undertake an interdisciplinary doctoral
program in video kiosk technology at the University of Hawaii, Manoa -
emphasizing genealogies and job banks for young people. This program
allows and encourages offsite telecommuting.

Work Experience
Creative consultant for Ex Yugoslav TV show on Quebec ethnic TV - 1996 to date…
- I invented the show which is called ******* and speaks about how people from what used to be Yugoslavia adapt, live and succeed in Montreal. (My wife is the host and producer).
Manager, Company Name, Montreal - 1994 to date…
- Reporting to the President, my responsibilities include: supervision of the creative process for educational book-games, some writing and editing; assisting in all other aspects of business including marketing and financing.
Immigration Consultant - 1992 - 94
- Working independently, I provided help to immigrants and refugees in particular with political risk assessments and analyses of the political situation in refugee producing countries.
Diplomat in Federal Secretariat for Foreign Affairs of Ex Yugoslavia (Tito’s)
1975 - 1992
- I taught at a Diplomatic Institute
- From 78 to 82 served as third secretary in (Country) embassy in Washington DC
( provided political and economic analyses and background papers; was a visiting Prof. at several American Universities - GMU of N. Virginia in particular, where students voted me to be the best of the year)
- From 84 to 88 served as first secretary and consul in (Country) embassy in Ottawa.
- From 88 to 92 was posted in Secretariat in Belgrade. Last job: Director of the North American Department. I helped formulate and carry out a reform policy often at considerable personal risks ( American diplomats should remember,
2
among other things, that they tried for decades to introduce Peace Corps into (Country) and that I finally was the one who helped them do it; it took courage and skills to do it, for Peace Corps was branded a CIA front organization in communist system and who dared to defend it risked the same, which was a sure career killer and often way to jail). I worked closely with US diplomats and other reps. Was involved in visits by numerous US personalities - Bob Dole, Cirrus Vance, Sec. of the State Jim Baker, who made a historic visit just before the brake up of Ex Yu. I also worked on visits of heads of states and governments of many countries, and at global conferences, like meetings of the World Bank and IMF, Summit of the nonaligned countries. When US diplomats needed help, they came often to me, for they knew that I could help them get access to the minister, whom I personally knew, having served under his ambassadorship in Washington DC, and the PM whom I knew from the Uny in Zagreb. During this time I wrote several novels but published only one with the first independent publisher in Ex Yu. Other novels were judged too liberal and some outright subversive (a friendly advice was not to show them to anybody).
Researcher in International Labor Office(part of UN system), Geneva, Switzerland - 1973 - 1975
- I provided analyses of the situation in Eastern European countries. When my contract expired, I joined the Ex Yu diplomatic service, having seen what it was about and met some people who wanted to reform the system. While in Geneva, I was also a correspondent for the biggest daily in Zagreb - Vjesnik. My articles appeared in prominent places.
Attitudes and activities
I have always been motivated by desire to make my country a parliamentary democracy, having been in contact, from an early age, with foreigners at the Island of Hvar, city of Hvar, Croatia and later after working abroad. I also took inspiration from Plato who said that if "you refuse to get involved, you risk to have the power exercised over you by someone worse than yourself". I took considerable personal risks and was regarded as too liberal for a long time. It was only when reform started to be more acceptable that I was accepted too, but only until the extremists and extreme nationalists took over; because I was and still am a cosmopolitan person. It was at that point that I chose to immigrate to Canada. I was in contact with American diplomats too, but came to Canada because I had some money invested here. Now I very much wish to come to the US.
Until I was 25, I more or less regularly played water polo and soccer. I was an executive of the water polo club in Hvar and visited several European countries with this club as a player, coach and executive. I played and was involved with clubs in Geneva, Washington, Ottawa, Belgrade and now in Montreal. I spent my life in water polo and have great expertise in this field which I can teach others.
I get along well with people of different origins and education.

for ****** I maintain 38 servers in the Host Computer Room that perform
with Unix, Linux, and NT platforms. We have thirteen T1 lines broken-out
into 300 modems. We register up to 200,000 products a day.
In the Host Room we process all the registration records and maintain a
database of this information. This database is then processed for
statistical information and marketed in thousands of different ways all
over the world. Some of my responsibilities include:
Repairing and updating all hardware as needed.
Maintaining and updating all operating systems software as needed.
Providing the Host Room with a cosmetically attractive appearance to
visitors.
Required to login at root level to make all Host Installation Requests
from our various departments.
Development and maintenance of a system of backups for general use
and disaster recovery.
Monitoring all errors from system computers and providing a digest
of important errors to engineers, programmers, and managers.
Maintain accounts, passwords, and permission for all users.
In only three months I was able to transform the Host Room from
a cosmetic and technical disaster (data cables on the floor, CDs and tapes
not properly labeled or stored, lack of documentation, etc.) into what
the Director of Sales and VP General Manager state as, “an appealing showcase”.
Due to my labors, I was selected as the company’s first Employee of the
Month.
July 1994 - Sept 1997 I decided to open my own used car lot in view of the potential for a substantial income and my confidence in my ability to sell anything. This business endeavor failed because of the loss of my main source of capital. In this endeavor I did gain an abundance of experience in business activities ranging from selling cars, managing a repair shop, apprising cars, finance and leasing, and the study of a customers thought process while under pressured to "buy now". During my enterprise I did continue to keep my computer skills sharp by performing a limited amount of consulting on Unix related point of sale procedures and general accounting.
Nov. 1984 - June 1994 As Owner & General Manager
of Name of Company: Corporation I was responsible for the Profit and Loss
of the corporation. It was my responsibility to design a budget
that instituted a natural obtainable growth profit pattern each fiscal
year. I also took direct charge of all hiring in order to direct
the staff that would best accomplish this goal of profitably.
At Computer Ways & Means we automated pharmacies (point of sale) and
business (order entry) computer systems. We sold and supported Real World
Software that ran on Unix and DOS platforms. The accounting software
we supported included General Ledger, Account Receivable, Accounts Payable,
Payroll, Order Entry, Inventory Control, and Purchase Order.
We also sold and supported PCS pharmacy software to which we owned the
source code. This PCS software completely automated the prescription
filling process, from drug interaction to third party billing. As
a small corporation of 11 employees, I was the "go to guy" on sales, support,
and installation. After 10 years I sold my company to HealthCare
Computer Corporation. Jason Barto, who was my Service Manager, is currently
a System Analyst for HealthCare Computer Corporation. (817) 413-9363 exit
